Hiring Freeze Bundle

3 Seats Frozen. Growth Target Is Not.

Led growth at cnvrg.io before its acquisition by Intel.

The headcount is frozen. The revenue target is not. Most teams under a freeze are missing the same three things: measurement that tells you what is working, automation that handles the ops volume, and decision rules for the budget the team does have. The hiring freeze bundle installs that layer with engagement-dependent pricing. No new org chart lines. Delivery milestones are agreed before work starts.

What this is

The missing measurement, automation and decision layer

A hiring freeze makes the actual workload and capacity visible. I personally inspect the selected growth operations and build the measurement, automation or decision workflows we agree. We identify which tasks can be supported, which need human judgement and production, and who maintains the result.

The hiring freeze bundle installs exactly that layer. AI Growth Systems is the operating layer between your ads account and your bank account. For a team in a freeze, the bundle delivers measurement, automation, and decision infrastructure with engagement-dependent pricing: no new headcount, onboarding and delivery milestones agreed before work starts. Selected tasks supported by documented workflows, with named human approval, exception and maintenance owners. To reconsider ownership when the existing team has already changed, see marketing rebuild after layoffs.

The engagement covers the missing ops layer, with pricing dependent on scope

AI Foundation uses Scope-dependent pricing for selected content, measurement and automation work. AI Premium uses Scope-dependent pricing for a wider agreed build. Compare tasks, human review and operating capacity rather than assume two or three roles are replaced. A Diagnostic: $6–8K, fixed scope can investigate an uncertain scope. Fit check

Who this is built for

Right fit if:

  • Headcount is frozen but Q3 and Q4 revenue targets are unchanged
  • The team you have cannot cover paid media ops, content, and attribution together
  • You need the measurement, automation, and decision layer running in weeks, not quarters
  • You have at least one internal person who can own the machine post-install
  • Post-PMF with a working funnel that needs the missing ops layer, not more validation
  • IL B2B or ecom team under a freeze with a US or EU revenue target that did not freeze with the headcount

Not the right fit if:

  • You want to hire a junior and need a cheaper option while you wait
  • Pre-PMF: no validated acquisition loop, no density math
  • No internal operator available to take ownership after install
  • You are looking for ChatGPT seats, not a built machine
  • Budget is gone entirely, not just headcount

What runs

Six systems that cover your frozen headcount

01

Content production system

I personally build the agreed research, brief, draft and content-review workflow. Human owners check source claims, brand and release. Measure drafting, review, corrections and maintenance against the current baseline; no universal two-hour output or complete error-detection rate is implied.

02

Paid media discipline layer

Budget pacing, creative scoring, weekly kill/scale decisions. The machine surfaces the decision; a human approves it. No junior running campaigns on feel while the account manager is on holiday.

03

Attribution and reporting

I personally reconcile the selected campaign, customer and revenue sources, recording definitions, timing, duplicates, unmatched records and unknowns. A difference between totals is a finding to explain, rather than proof that an analyst or a platform is wrong.

04

Lead routing and scoring

Inbound leads scored, routed, and logged to CRM without manual ops. Alert rules fire when high-intent signals appear. The sales team sees the right leads first without a marketing ops junior in the loop.

05

Anomaly detection and alerts

I personally configure the agreed anomaly rules, destinations and escalation owners and test normal and failed-delivery behavior. Response time depends on the source, polling, configuration and human coverage; we measure it for the selected workflow rather than promise minute-level detection.

06

Handoff documentation

Every workflow documented. Every decision rule written. When the freeze lifts and you hire, the machine is the onboarding manual. New team inherits a working system, not a blank slate.

Timeline

Week 1 to month 3: from freeze announcement to machine running

Week 1-2

Stack audit and automation map

Map every manual task your frozen team cannot cover. Prioritize by revenue impact. Document the first three automations to build.

Week 3-6

Core system install

Attribution baseline, n8n backbone, content pipeline, lead routing. Parallel with your existing ops until verified stable, then handed off.

Month 2-3

Full machine running

I personally implement and test the agreed workflows, train receiving owners and record maintenance, exceptions and capacity still needed. The selected remote CMO working rhythm follows the actual scope rather than an async-only default.

Questions

Hiring freeze bundle FAQ

On headcount leverage and automation ROI, see: SHRM: cost-per-hire benchmarking (employer overhead data).

Is this a contractor arrangement or a software subscription?

Neither. It is a systems install with active management. I build the n8n automations, AI ops layer, and attribution infrastructure specific to your stack, then manage and iterate them while your team builds internal ownership. The deliverable is a running machine, not a service contract or a SaaS seat.

What three roles does the system replace?

The scope can support selected content, paid-media analysis or operations tasks: research and drafting, pacing review, lead routing, reports or alerts. I personally implement the agreed workflows. We measure supported output and human review, exception and maintenance time rather than assume three roles are fully covered.

Does this work if we have no marketing team at all?

It works best when you have one internal operator who can own the machine after the engagement. If there is literally nobody on the marketing side, start with the diagnostic ($6–8K, fixed scope) to map what needs to exist before automation makes sense. A machine that runs a broken funnel runs it faster and more expensively.

How does this fit with our existing tools: HubSpot, Salesforce, GA4?

The system connects to your stack, it does not replace it. n8n has native integrations with HubSpot, Salesforce, Google Analytics 4, and most CRM and ad platforms. Attribution is server-side, reading from your CRM closed data, not platform pixels. The build is stack-specific and verified before the first automation goes live.

What happens if the freeze lifts and we hire?

A new hire can inherit the documented workflows, source definitions, operating checks and known gaps. We agree and test the handoff with the receiving owner. Their productivity depends on actual role, access, training and workload rather than a day-one-versus-week-six guarantee.

Who is this not a good fit for?

It is not the right fit if you want a cheaper option to stand in for a junior hire while you wait, or if you are pre-PMF with no validated acquisition loop. It also does not fit if no internal operator can take ownership after install, if you are looking for ChatGPT seats rather than a built machine, or if the budget is gone entirely, not just headcount.

What should I bring to the diagnostic call?

Bring the actual frozen roles, work needing coverage, available evidence and operating owners. The call helps define which personal investigation or implementation would be useful and what capacity, access and reviews it requires. We do not assume a system covers three full functions.

What do we agree before work starts, including pricing, confidentiality and tool access?

Pricing depends on the scope of the engagement, and onboarding and delivery milestones are agreed before work starts. Confidentiality, NDA, data and tool access, and security are agreed per engagement as well. The Diagnostic, which is the starting point if you are unsure which tier fits, is $6–8K, fixed scope.
